Bringing Healthcare Home
On 14 July 2017, Mushtaq Development Foundation organised a free general medical camp at Bilal Masjid, Peer Khurshid Colony No. 3, Suraj Kand Road, Multan — a densely populated urban neighbourhood where access to affordable healthcare remains a persistent challenge for working-class families, daily wage earners, and the elderly.
The camp was made possible through the generous support of Fatima Hospital, whose medical team provided qualified doctors, medicines, and lab testing infrastructure. MDF contributed ground-level mobilisation, community outreach, volunteer coordination, and logistical management for the entire event.
"Healthcare is not a luxury — it is a right. This camp was our commitment that no one in this community should go without care because they cannot afford it."
— Andleeb Mushtaq, President, MDF50% Off Everything — Only Rs. 50
The medical camp operated on a simple, community-friendly model: a single flat registration fee of Rs. 50 provided full access to all services, with a blanket 50% discount applied to every service offered on the day.
This affordability model was deliberately designed to remove financial barriers entirely — the Rs. 50 token fee served merely to ensure a dignified, organised process rather than charity, preserving the self-respect and agency of every patient who attended.

The camp offered a comprehensive range of healthcare services under one roof, staffed by qualified medical professionals from Fatima Hospital.

Reaching the Most Vulnerable
The camp served a cross-section of Peer Khurshid Colony No. 3's population — from young children and elderly residents to daily wage workers who had long-deferred medical attention due to cost. Over 100 patients were attended to on the day.
Priority was given to persons with disabilities, elderly residents, and pregnant women — groups that face the greatest barriers to accessing even basic primary healthcare in urban low-income settlements like Peer Khurshid Colony.
